Tokozile Xasa, the former minister of sport, has called quits on her career in the National Assembly.
President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to shrink his cabinet is certainly being felt. Xasa becomes the fifth former minister to resign after Dipuo-Letsatsi-Duba, Susan Shabangu and Nomaindia Mfeketo and Jeff Radebe also resigned as MP's.
ANC Chief whip Pemmy Majodina confirmed Xasa’s resignation on Friday.
Ramaphosa has merged several departments together to cull his cabinet. Nathi Mthethwa now heads the merged department of sport, arts and culture.
