Economic Freedom Fighter leader Julius Malema has slammed the Democratic Alliance for nor sharing power in Tshwane.
The parties have a tenuous power sharing agreement in many municipalities, Tshwane being one. But after the DA won the municipality and failed to install an EFF representative as mayor, Malema was unhappy.
"If things go wrong in Tshwane it will be the DA and not the EFF to blame," he told The Citizen.
"The most reasonable thing to do when you have not won elections is to share power and do not behave arrogantly like the ANC do when they are in power. The DA and the ANC are the same."
Meanwhile, DA leader Mmusi Maimane revealed he would not placate the EFF if it was against the party’s principles.
"Coalitions only work on principle, they don’t just work on simply just saying you’ll be pragmatic or you’ll ignore your own principles,” he added.
"Our principles are crucial."
