The Economic Freedom Fighters revealed they will appeal the court's decision against Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
On Monday, the Pretoria High Court ruled in favour of public enterprises minister Pravin Gordhan, dismissing the remedial action proposed by Mkhwebane following her report into the SA Revenue Services so called rogue unit.
ANA reports that the EFF are going to appeal to the Constitutional Court to reverse the decision. The party also accused Judge Sulet Potterill - who called Mkhwebane’s orders “vague contradictory and/or nonsensical” - of racism.
"This is because we had realised how visibly irritated Judge Sulet Potterill was, when the black lawyers who were exclusively arguing against the exclusively white lawyers of [Pravin] Jamnandas Gordhan, Ramaphosa, and all who wanted the interdict," read the EFF’s statement.
"Nevertheless, above all, we believe that the interdict essentially shuts down what is a constitutionally created institution. We shall therefore appeal this decision with the Constitutional Court. It is a fight to the end."
