ASAP Rocky found guilty - handed two-year suspended sentence

US rapper ASAP Rocky has been found guilty of assault in Sweden following a fight in the country.

The rapper, who's real name is Rakim Mayers, has also been handed a two-year suspended sentence.

ASAP was arrested with three other people in Stockholm following a street brawl and spent nearly a month in custody.

Taking to Instagram the rapper, said that he is "disappointed" with the verdict that has also ordered him to pay damages to the victim.

"I want to say thanks again to all of my fans, friends, and everyone who showed me love during this difficult time," he wrote.

In a statement, the court said that "the assault has not been of such a serious nature that a prison sentence must be chosen."
