Fired former prosecutor Nomgcobo Jiba has delayed the process for Parliament to make a decision on Cyril Ramaphosa's decision to fire her with an urgent court interdict.

Ramaphosa fired advocates Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi in April after the recommendation of a commission set up by retired Constitutional Court Justice Yvonne Mokgoro.

In June, however, the General Council of the Bar of South Africa lost its bid to have the pair removed from the roll of advocates.

"We were served with an application yesterday afternoon...which seeks to interdict this process pending the finalisation of her review application against the president and the Mokgoro commission," said parliamentary legal advisor Siviwe Njikela.
