Black First Land First (BLF) leader Andile Mngxitama will face off with AfriForum in the Equality Court on Wednesday and Thursday over racial utterances made by Mngxitama.

Mngxitama said that for every black person killed, his party would kill five white people in return. The former EFF MP made the comments while addressing a BLF rally in Potchefstroom last December.

“We’ll kill their children. We’ll kill their women. We’ll kill anything that we find on our way We’ll kill their dogs. We’ll kill their cats. We’ll kill anything that comes before us,” said Mngxitama.

AfriForum swiftly lodged a complaint in the Equality Court for the incitement of murder towards white people and the trial is finally set to get underway on Wednesday, with proceedings set to carry over to Thursday.

Spokesperson Hesti Steenkamp said Ernst Roets, AfriForum’s head of policy and action, would testify as an expert witness, while Mngxitama is expected to conduct his own defence.
