Gallo Records has confirmed that Thami Shobede, who was signed to the label, has passed away at the age of 31.
The Idols South Africa season 12 runner-up died on Thursday morning at Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria.
Robert Cowling, general manager at Gallo Records, told The Sowetan that "It came to our attention this morning that he was in hospital suffering from an illness and complications."
