Eight people have been killed and 18 others have been injured in an overnight attack in northern Rwanda near the border with DR Congo.
The attack took place on Friday.
Police confirmed that six people were killed with machetes or knives and others were shot dead by unidentified men.
"Security forces were quick to provide emergency services to the residents of the area and investigations are still ongoing to find these terrorists," a police statement read.
The incident occurred in Musanze district. This location attracts tourists because of its Volcanoes National Park and its mountain gorillas.
