Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan says Amakhosi should not shoulder the blame for decisions made by officials this season.

Chiefs have benefited from a number of decisions by the referees and their assistants this PSL campaign and they have gone on to sit at the top of the table with 12 points after eight matches.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane also made mention of the Soweto giants recently when he said his team do not benefit from decisions like Chiefs do.

Khan, however, says the Amakhosi cannot take the blame if some decisions have gone in their favour.

"Look, I will tell you this much, I wouldn't say it's luck. I don't think it's fair to say it's luck only," Khan told Kickoff.

"Chiefs are not winning because the referees are favouring them.

"I don't think Chiefs must be blamed for referees' decisions, that's wrong. Chiefs have earned these wins. And if the referees have erred it's not their fault."

Khan also said it is still to early to predict who will win the Premiership crown, with Chiefs and defending champions Sundowns, who are still unbeaten this season, playing well.

"It's still very early to say. Still few games played," Khan went on.

"Sundowns are playing well as well you know even though they are playing in many competitions. They've started well, they are getting points where it matters.

"Sundowns didn't start on a high but they finished on a high, we saw last year as well, coming from behind and winning the league."
